Flat Stanley in Hong Kong - Week #1

Monday afternoon Gwen had a visitor.  Patrick's cousin Jacob sent Flat Stanley to see the sights around Hong Kong.

Monday we checked out the Target office in Hong Kong.

1st stop is Cousin Patrick's office with a view of the harbor.

Checked out a map of the world to see how far he had travelled - off the left side of the map and back on the right side.
Stanley checked out some of the Lunar New Year celebration decorations in the office.
After a long day - everyone decided to head home.
Tuesday Stanley headed north and crossed the boarder into China with Cousin Patrick.

Cousin Patrick's stop before the office - Starbucks.

Stanley in with all of our friend Kerry's Target dogs.

Stanley was checking out all that Target had - hanging with with some ads.

Friday was back in the Hong Kong office.  Flat Stanley was new to most of Gwen's team - so there was lots of explanation needed.

Friday was back to work - Stanley traveled via Gwen's backpack - and she got a few funny looks.

Friday night ended with Patrick and Gwen having a nightcap at the Intercontinental Hotel showing Stanley the amazing view of the harbor and the light show.
Saturday was supposed to be a trip to Stanley Market - but the weather was not great (typical for Hong Kong this time of year) - low clouds and slight drizzle.  So maybe we will hit Stanley Market next weekend before Stanley heads back to VA.

Instead we headed out to our favorite Dumpling joint - Din Tai Fung - for lunch and over to Hong Kong Island for some shopping and a hair cut for Patrick.
Stanley helped Patrick with the order.

Xiao Long Bao and Garlic Spinach.  Xiao Long Bao are famous dumplings with pork and soup inside.  YUM.

Stanley getting a closer look.

After lunch we checked out the people making the dumplings.

And the mascot.

Stanley and Patrick heading to the ferry to cross the harbor to Central.

Stanley wanted everyone to know he was safe - there were life preservers.

After some shopping and a haircut - everyone heading back to Kowloon via the MTR instead of the ferry.
Sunday, Stanley gave Patrick some swing tips at the driving range.

Hopefully next week the weather will clear up and Stanley can see more of the city.
