Bali Vacation - Resort #2

Our second stop was New Kuta Resort

Another local beer we used to celebrate a long day as we arrived

Patrick's traditional Balinese meal - some satay, rice and ox tail soup.

Gwen went with fried rice again :)
Views from around the resort as Gwen waited for her ride to her cycling day.

Gwen did a cycling tour of Bali while Patrick checked out a new golf course.

Started with a different coffee plantations with view of rice paddies - Bali has the famous  coffee from the Civit cat (Luwak) - Yep, really.  The animals eat the coffee beans and poop them out... then they get roasted.  We wondered who decided to try this for the first time... they really must have needed some caffeine.

Next stop was breakfast looking at Mount Batur.

Next stop was a small village - This is the village temple.

This is a Hindi village - The poles are "Penjor" in front of the houses - more on those later.

We had the chance to go through a typical local house.

Bamboo forest

Gwen's ride for the day.
We stopped at another larger village and had some time to walk around.

Cathedral cactus

Census marker on on the houses.

Looking through one home's front door.
One of our last stops (due to rain) was the second largest temple in Bali.

Our ride ended with lunch at the owner's place in a rice paddy.

Views around New Kuta Resort:

Had to take a picture of a Japanese couple taking pictures of this doll around the resort.  It may be their version of Flat Stanley.
