Happy 2013

We are both back in Hong Kong after 2 weeks in the US - one week of work and one spending time with family and friends.  Neither of us missed the MN weather.

The holiday went well until we were returning.  We traveled separately since Patrick was on a work trip and Gwen's travel was personal.  Gwen was originally set to travel from SC straight to HK with stops in Charlotte and San Francisco.  She made it to Charlotte, but the flight to SF had mechanical issues.  So, instead she was routed to LA with a 9 hour layover - but it was the next available seat to HK.

On the flight over, she did get to see some new things on that route:
The Grand Canyon out my window.

Upon landing in LAX I then got to see my first A380 (double decker passenger jet).  In planning our trip for Lunar New Year one option was to fly this plane to Singapore (that option did not work).

Final leg of the trip (only one with my own video display)
Arrived Sunday morning at 5am (instead of Saturday at 8pm) without luggage.  Luggage arrived on the 31st at 11:35pm - so I did get to see in the New Year. I was told that this was a good thing - leaving my troubles behind in 2012.

Patrick's return was not as bad, but he had to sit on a plane in Tokyo for an extra 2 hours due to weather.  So he got home at 2:30am on Monday (with luggage).

Since I was awake to bring in the New Year I shot some photos from our guest room window - perfect as it was pretty cold out (10C) and my bed was 20 feet away...

Happy 2013 from the Anderson's.
