Bangkok - Day 1

This past weekend was spent checking off another place on our bucket list - Bangkok.

We left late Thursday night on an Emirates A380 - one of the new double decker planes.

We got a late start on Friday - but we did not get to the hotel until 1:30am.

Photos from our hotel room:

We took two boats up the river to start our day at the Grand Palace:

Once we were off the boat, we walked through a market to get to the Grand Palace:

The Grand Palace:

Last stop in the Grand Palace was the Queen Sirikit Textile Museum.  This was a highlight of our day.  We could not take photos; which was a bummer.   The history of textiles in Thailand encouraged by the Queen was amazing.

Next stop was a walk around the Grand Palace to the Wat Pho - home of the countries largest reclining buddha.  And a whole lot of other buddhas.

Next stop was at the Target office to stop by and say Hi.  Here are some pictures in the taxi ride there.

Next stop was for 2 hour Thai massages.  Gwen only came out with about 3 or 4 bruises.

Then we had dinner at The Blue Elephant.

BTS back to the hotel to crash and get ready for our food and bike tour the next day.
